Kielce contributes to international report

The International Movement ATD Fourth World publishes its report on consultations with people in extreme poverty on the draft guiding principles “Extreme Poverty and Human Rights: The Rights of the Poor” October 17 2007 (Interim Rapport) Human Rights
On 24 August 2006, the United Nations’ Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights adopted draft guiding principles entitled “Extreme poverty and human rights: the rights of the poor.”

17 October 2007 in Poland

The Polish Onbudsman Jan Kochanowski (Rzecznik Praw Obiwatelskych – Commissionner for Citizens Rights) has decided to give his patronage to the events which will take place in Poland. He recently wrote to all local authorities in Poland to invite them to join the international day mobilisation. All events will be listed on a special website

23 million people stood up against poverty !

With over 23 million people standing up to be counted, Stand Up Against Poverty, Stand Up for the Millennium Development Goals, became “the largest mobilisation of people in the history of Guinness World Record Breaking”!
In almost 12,000 events spread across nearly 100 countries, people stood up together to tell their leaders in no uncertain terms: “We have to end poverty, illiteracy and disease. We have less than 10 years to go to achieve the Millennium Development (...) [więcej...]

Marking the International day for the eradication of poverty in Poland - 17 October 2006

The day will be marked in Warsaw and Kielce.
In Warsaw, at 4 pm, children and adults will gather at the memorial Janusz Korczak (im the small park north of the Palace of Culture and Science). Voices of children will be listen to and participants will stand up against poverty. Meeting will then move to palace of youth where exhibition "Freindship builds a world without borders" will open.
